Well....the cabinets are finally in. They look great. I can't wait to see what the kitchen looks like when it's all finally finished. Counter top, floor and all. For those of you who have been in my house....Yes the color on the walls is the color of the kitchen now.

Soo...The painting is almost done. Now all that needs to be done is the kitchen floor, appliance installation, counter tops in kitchen, cleaning carpet... and moving in. I'm dreading the move in part. It's going to take a long time. I plan on going through everything and getting rid of things that I don't absolutely need. But should it take longer than I want it to

I may just toss it where it went before and tackle it another time.

House Update

I don't really have much to tell you about the improvements on our new kitchen, but several people have asked so I figured I'd better get something up here.

Right now the kitchen has been gutted and the floor torn out. Last week the electrical was done so we now have more sockets and new can lights in the ceiling.

The cabinets are supposed to be here the week of the the 20th. Once those get here, and if they are all correct, things should move right along. We can't really do anything else to the kitchen until the cabinets get put in.

Once things get moving hopefully we will be back in our house by the end of May. That's the plan anyway. Hopefully a little before then so I can move things back in slowly and get rid of some things that we don't need.

Know what money you are carrying. This was the first I have heard of a scheme like this. Be safe! Something very serious to pay attention to.
Criminals are coming up with craftier, less threatening methods of attack, so we have to be extra cautious. Read on about the author who lives in Alexandria, VA.

I live in Alexandria , VA , but I often work in Lafayette , LA , staying with friends when I'm there. As you know from America 's Most Wanted TV program, as well as the news media, there is a serial killer in the Lafayette area. I just want to let you know about an "incident" that happened to me a few weeks ago, and could have been deadly.
At first I didn't go to the police or anyone with it because I didn't realize how serious this encounter was. But since I work in a jail and I told a few people about it, it wasn't long before I was paraded into Internal Affairs to tell them my story.

It was approximately 5 : 15 a.m. In Appaloosas, La. I had stayed with a friend there and was on my way to work. I stopped at the Exxon/Blimpie Pie station to get gas. I got $10 gas and a Diet Coke. I took into the store two $5 bills and one $1 bill (just enough to get my stuff). As I pulled away from the store, a man approached my truck from the back side of the store (an unlit area). He was an "approachable-looking" man (clean cut, clean shaven, dressed well, etc.). He walked up to my window and knocked. Since I'm very paranoid and 'always looking for the rapist or killer,' I didn't open the window. I just asked what he wanted. He raised a $5 bill to my window and said, "You dropped this." Since I knew I had gone into the store with a certain amount of money, I knew I didn't drop it. When I told him it wasn't mine, he began hitting the window and door, screaming at me to open my door, and insisting that I had dropped the money! At that point, I just drove away as fast as I could. After talking to the Internal Affairs Department and describing the man I saw, and the way he escalated from calm and polite to angry and volatile ... it was determined that I could have possibly encountered the serial killer myself. Up to this point, it had been unclear as to how he had gained access to his victims, since there has been no evidence of forced entry into victim's homes, cars, etc. And the fact that he has been attacking in the daytime, when women are less likely to have their guard up, means he is pretty BOLD.

So think about it...what gesture is nicer than returning money to someone that dropped it?????How many times would you have opened your window (or door) to get your money and say thank you ...Because if the person is kind enough to return something to you, then he can't really be a threat ... can he????

Please be cautious! This might not have been the serial killer... But anyone that gets that angry over someone not accepting money from them can't have honorable intentions. The most important thing to note is that his reaction was NOT WHAT I EXPECTED! A total surprise! But what might have happened if I had opened my door? I shudder to think! Forward this to everyone you know .... maybe they can be as fortunate as I was!

P.S. Ladies, really DO forward this to EVERYONE you know. Even if this man wasn't a serial killer, he looked nice, he seemed polite, he was apparently doing an act of kindness, but HE WAS NOT A NICE PERSON!

When 70% of the people who get arrested are black, in cities where 70% of the population is black, that is not racial profiling; it is the Law of Probability.

I believe that if you are selling me a milkshake, a pack of cigarettes, a newspaper or a hotel room, you must do it in English! As a matter of fact, if you want to be an American citizen, you should have to speak English! My father and grandfather didn't die in vain so you can leave the countries you were born in to come over and disrespect ours.

I think the police should have every right to shoot you if you threaten them after they tell you to stop. If you can't understand the word 'freeze' or 'stop' in English, see the above lines.


I don't think just because you were not born in this country, you are qualified for any special loan programs, government sponsored bank loans or tax breaks, etc., so you can open a hotel, coffee shop, trinket store, or any other business.

We did not go to the aid of certain foreign countries and risk our lives in wars to defend their freedoms, so that decades later they could come over here and tell us our constitution is a living document; and open to their interpretations.


I don't hate the rich; I don't pity the poor. I know pro wrestling is fake, but so are movies and television. That doesn't stop you from watching them.
I think Bill Gates has every right to keep every penny he made and continue to make more. If it ticks you off, go and invent the next operating system that's better, and put your name on the building.

It doesn't take a whole village to raise a child right, but it does take a parent to stand up to the kid and smack their little behinds when necessary, and say 'NO!'


I think tattoos and piercing are fine if you want them, but please don't pretend they are a political statement. And, please, stay home until that new lip ring heals. I don't want to look at your ugly infected mouth as you serve me French fries!

I am sick of 'Political Correctness.' I know a lot of black people, and not a single one of them was born in Africa ; so how can they be 'African-Americans'? Besides, Africa is a continent. I don't go around saying I am a European-American because my great, great, great, great, great, great grandfather was from Europe. I am proud to be from America and nowhere else.

It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having 'In God We Trust' on our money and having 'God' in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the 14% to BE QUIET!!!

Good News

I got a call from the housing peoples today telling me that we will be in a house by/on Monday. I'm hoping we can start moving in on Saturday....but Monday is good too. Thank you Katie Cline for driving your neighborhood and emailing me rentals in your area. Thank you to everyone who stops us at church or gives us a call to see how we're doing and asks if we need anything. You guys have been awesome. I love my ward to guys are great.

We still have not started on the remodel yet, but we're making progress finding people to do the work.
